We are seeking experienced and results-driven Farm Workers or Managers to facilitate the day-to-day operations of our Cashew and Maize farms in Kogi State. The ideal candidate will possess strong agricultural expertise, especially in tree crop and arable farming, and demonstrate the ability to lead, plan, and optimize farm productivity while ensuring environmental sustainability and community engagement.
Farm Operations & Planning
Develop and implement annual and seasonal farm plans for cashew and maize production.
Coordinate planting, fertilization, pest and disease control, irrigation, and harvesting schedules.
Ensure efficient land preparation, crop rotation, and conservation practices.
Team Leadership & Supervision
Recruit, train, and manage farm workers and supervisors.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor standards.
Promote a culture of accountability, productivity, and respect on the farm.
Record Keeping & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of farm activities, inputs, yields, and expenses.
Prepare periodic reports for senior management on production performance and challenges.
Monitor inventory levels of seeds, fertilizers, tools, and machinery.
Asset & Resource Management
Manage and maintain farm machinery, equipment, and infrastructure.
Monitor input usage to ensure cost-effectiveness and minimize waste.
Identify and mitigate risks (weather, pests, security, etc.).
Stakeholder & Community Engagement
Liaise with local authorities, suppliers, and agribusiness partners.
Build positive relationships with host communities and ensure local engagement.
Support farm certification, quality standards, and market access strategies.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience farming or managing medium to large-scale cashew and/or maize farms. Similar farming experience is also acceptable.
Good understanding of agronomic practices, soil health, pest control, and post-harvest management.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, labor, and farm machinery.
Fair leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate in English is required; knowledge of local languages (Igala or Hausa) is a plus.
Must be willing to reside near the farm and adapt to rural living conditions.
Competitive salary range based on experience:
With accommodation: the starting range is ₦50,000 to ₦70,000 per month, to be renegotiated after a 3-month probationary period.
Without accomodation the starting range is ₦70,000 to ₦100,000 per month, to be renegotiated after a 3-month probationary period.
On-site housing in Ichala Ibaji Kogi State.
